Overall Operations

Modern Industries has received an exemption from the Pennsylvania Governor's Office and remains OPEN for business & OPERATIONAL!

We have implemented internal protocol consistent with Federal and State guidelines to protect our staff and stakeholders, including closing our office and plants to visitors without an appointment and office staff working remotely.

We are maintaining Customer and Supplier engagement via video conferencing & email notices and will continue to update our website and social media with new information as it becomes available.

In the office (Corporate)

In an attempt to keep our employees safe and healthy, many of our office employees are working from home.

Additionally, we are are ensuring that our employees who are still in the office are following Federal and State guidelines such as social distancing, regular hand washing, and increased sanitizing of common spaces.

Modern Heat Treat in Erie remains operational and has the capacity for additional work.

This plant is taking precautionary measures to ensure that our employees remain healthy. Additionally, we are making sure that the product going out the door is sanitary.

Metallurgical Labs (Erie & Pittsburgh)

Modern’s Materials Research Division Testing Labs remain open and have capacity for additional work.

The lab is taking precautionary measures to ensure that our employees remain healthy. Samples and packages are sanitized as they arrive and before processing.

Heat Treat (Kersey)

Our Kersey plant, in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania, is operating and has capacity for more orders.

Our Kersey team, known for its experience in powdered metal heat treating, is working hard to keep its employees safe & healthy. Along with our internal efforts, we are working hard to keep our outgoing product as sanitary as possible.

Environmental Lab (Free-Col)

Our Free-Col Lab remains operational. Hours at our Meadville sample collections office have been modified to: Monday thru Friday 9 am to 1 pm.

We are scheduling sample collection from most ice cream customers at the end of April (the last 7 - 10 days). PA DEP water samples will still be collected and ice cream samples may be collected at that time.

Please note that the PA Department of Agriculture has advised us that failure to sample ice creams in April will NOT result in any sort of fine.
