For those interested in the production side of the landscape maintenance industry. Interns will gain experience in:
- Turf, Shrub and Seasonal Color Maintenance
- Scheduling and Planning
- Customer Service
- Proper Pruning Techniques
- Equipment Operation
- Safety Programs
- Pest Control Practices
- Irrigation Management
- Enhancement Estimation
- Personnel Management
- Plant Identification
- In-Field Experience with Crews, Technicians, and Managers
Option 2: Maintenance Irrigation
For those interested in irrigation management and repairs.
Interns will gain experience in the following:
- Proper Irrigation techniques
- Water Management
- Controller Programming
- System Evaluation and Troubleshooting
- Repairs of All System Components
- Supply Purchasing
- Estimation and Small Irrigation Designs
- In-Field Experience with a Technician
Option 3: Maintenance Sales
For those interested in New Business Development for landscape maintenance contracts. Interns will gain experience in:
- Lead Prospecting
- Sales Calls
- Site Assessment
- Estimation and Bidding
- Package Development and Presentation Skills
In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in marketing and public relations events and activities including in-field experience with a New Business Development or Marketing representative.
Option 4: Custom Focus
We are willing to work with individual students to cross-train and/or specialize in a variety of special interests related to your major or specific career goal. We want to be able to provide you with an experience where you can apply what you are learning in your classes, to the field!
