Does this sound like your morning? Alarm goes off. Hit 'snooze' once or twice. Jump up, hurry to get yourself -- and perhaps your child(ren) -- ready for the day, maybe grab a bite to eat (or not). Rush out of the door to drop the kids off and/or get to work. Then, you're probably annoyed and feeling "off" and "meh" the rest of the day.
Generally, the way you start your morning sets the tone for the rest of your day. According to Dr. Rahim Kanji, "the degree at which you set your emotional thermostat is likely how your internal emotional temperature will stay throughout the day." And you want your temperature to be at least moderate, right?
