Temi Kamson is the founder and Chief Executive of GT Scholars, a UK-based social enterprise that provides tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programmes to young people from a range of backgrounds.
Passionate about social mobility and diversity, Temi has a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham. She started her career as an engineer and worked for a short time in Investment banking before deciding to pursue a PGCE in Mathematics Education at the University of Cambridge.
Temi taught in state and independent schools for a decade before moving into the world of project management and social entrepreneurship.
Meet our guest speakers - Joana Baptista and James Bromfield
Joana and James are co-founders of UniPear. Joana is a 3rd-year Economics & Management student at St Hilda’s College, originally from Portugal. A passionate social entrepreneur, Joana enjoys showing the “out of the box” activities you can get up to at Oxford. Joana enjoys playing sports at University - in particular hockey and ice hockey - and getting involved in campaigns for gender equality.
James is a 3rd year PPE student at St Hilda’s College, originally from St Albans. Having taken a gap year before coming to Oxford, he’s passionate about non-linear paths to Oxford. James was also JCR President of St Hilda’s College 2020-2021, and enjoys playing football and running, among other hobbies.
