Dear Quaggas Members,

How blessed we are to have this wonderful piece of nature to escape from the city and enjoy the outdoors!

With unusually warm weather the last couple of weeks, it does not feel like winter at all and we've had several campers, day visitors and boats out on the water recently.

The staff have been busy with maintenance tasks around the club grounds; from cleaning water tanks to refurbishing the clubhouse we are making the most of the quiet period. Some staff have also taken their annual leave on a rotational basis to give them a well deserved rest.

Ons verwelkom graag Johan & Lita Burger as nuwe lede van die klub. Alhoewel hulle al jare by die klub betrokke is as deel van die Hannes Cook gesin het hulle nou aansoek gedoen as volwaardige lede van die klub.

You may recall the communication sent in February this year regarding the SARS compliance matters. Phases 1 & 2 are completed and the next phase is to register for VAT and complete the VDP in terms of historical tax liabilities.

The VAT registration will have impact on all sales and levies, essentially adding the 15% output VAT to sales items while claiming the input VAT on relevant purchases. During the implementation process the levies will be structured to minimize the impact on members.

With the VDP (Voluntary Disclosure Programme) we are working with BVSA, the club accountants and Adv Erick Marx on this matter to ensure a fair and just procedure. This is quite a lengthy process but we trust to have a resolution from SARS by December 2022.

Die jaarlikse heffings van huise en permanente kampeerplekke is nou betaalbaar en lede sou op 1 Julie 2022 'n faktuur ontvang het. Neem asseblief kennis dat die heffing sodanig in die konstitusie vervat is. Ons bedank die lede wat alreeds die betaling gemaak het en vetrou dat ons op alle lede kan staatmaak om so spoedig moontlik die rekening te vereffen.

Please note that service fees, including electricity is charged in arrears each month. The various service fees were increased for the new financial year as follows:

• Boat garage rental - big = R690
• Boat garage rental - small = R470
• Security - house owner = R173.00
• Security - premier camper = R92.00
• Security - boat garage = R173.00
• Bubbler service = R185.00
• Electricity rates remain the same. This is charged according to the Eskom rates which increased on 1 April 2022.

Die elektriese heining om die boot garages is besig om opgerig te word. Die Klub se werkers het die area skoongemaak en voorberei vir die grawe van die gate. Die ingang na die boot garages sal met 'n automatiese rol-hek toegerus word.
