WILL I HAVE MY COURSE READY IN 30 DAYS?
Well, yes and no. By the end of the program, you will have all the information and tools you need to design an effective course. If you complete the assignments and worksheets each week, you will have a well-structured, participant-focused, overall course curriculum (i.e., outline), as well as clearly defined lesson plans for each module in your program by the end of our time together. You may or may not have created every asset you need to deliver your program - but when the structure is crystal clear, your lesson scripts and supporting materials practically create themselves! If you keep up with the program, you will have a what you need to flesh out and presell your course. That is, PLOT Your Course works, but only if you do.

Hi, I'm Melissa, course content coach, mad word scientist, and proprietrix of Melissa's Module Lab. I'm thrilled you are here.
I'm passionate about helping women entrepreneurs amplify their authority, reach and help more people, and create more freedom in their online businesses through the addition of courses - courses done right.
I earned my M.Ed. from the School of Psychology in Education at the University of Pittsburgh, through a curriculum that focused on social and developmental psychology, education, and research methods. Drawing on my education plus my experience as a copywriter, classroom teacher, corporate trainer, and marketing communications specialist, I show business owners how to design and create instrutional materials based on the science of learning and teaching.
When you learn to apply proven instrutional methods to deliver your course, your participants will learn more and transform their businesses or lives in greater ways. That is, your program will have more impact because your participants' will realize greater benefits.
PLOT Your Course - Curriculum and Logistics
In PLOT Your Course, we meet LIVE on Zoom for 90 minutes, once a week. Each session includes one hour of instruction, followed by 30 minutes of discussion and Q&A.
Week 1 - PLANNING: Setting objectives and creating your curriculum plan. The module ensures you are developing a program that is actionable and solves your clients' problem.
Week 2 - LESSONS: Designing well-structured module lessons. Effective teaching techniques covered in the second module result in improved instructor confidence for you and more engaging lessons for them.
Week 3 - OUTCOMES: Ensuring participant performance and success. The outcomes module explores creatively providing participants with practice and assessment in an online environment - to lead them to the solution they're seeking through your program.
Week 4 - TOOLS & TIPS: Gathering resources and building 'know, like, trust.' In the final module, we determine how to get your program "out there" quickly (and without spending a fortune) and to ensure it's engaging and effective for your audience.
