Dear Quaggas Members,

Repair work on Quaggas Access Road

In conversation with Water Affairs, it has come to our attention that the Contractor, who is responsible for construction work at the Kwaggaskloof Dam outlet structure, will begin construction soon. The date is still unknown, but the expectation is within this year.

The Contractor will need to use our access road during construction. In terms of the tender, the Contractor is responsible for repairing any damage to the road due to its use. Once the contractor is on-site, we will be able to make a meaningful cost estimate for the reconstruction of the road with the necessary layers, together with Water Affairs and the Contractor. 

However, the reconstruction of the road can only take place after their construction work is completed. Since the road has already deteriorated, a contribution from the club will be inevitable. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we believe this will provide the most meaningful financial outcome for our club and its members. In the meantime, the club will perform temporary maintenance on the road, but will keep it to a minimum. Members and visitors are also requested to use the road with caution until the road is reconstructed.

Feedback on Members Meeting

We wish to thank all the members that contributed to the revision of the Constitution and Rules. The documentation was updated with the recommendations from the July members' meeting.

Please review the updated documents below and send your comments to [email protected] by 28 August 2023. Unless there are further updates, the Rules will be adopted at the next committee meeting on 31 August 2023.

The updates to the Constitution will be presented for members approval at the AGM in October 2023.

The meaning of the colour coding in the documents are as follows:
Green: items to be added
Red: items to be removed
Purple: further input required
